Get Computer name in webpage

Hi there

Im a uni student, is there a way to get the computer name in a web page. Im developing a computer fault form. So when the user clicks the particular link it has to get that local machine’s name and email to the administrator. Its my uni project. I would really appreciate if someone could help me!

@candelbcSep 19.2005 — This certainly depends on the technology you are using to develop your form AND the web server platform it is running on.

If you could enlighten us, we may be able to better help.

@ray326Sep 19.2005 — In general you can't on the client. The remote host's IP address will be available in the request when the form is posted so you can look it up on the server as you process the form.
