Browser Based HTML editor

Does anyone have a script where people can edit portions of a webpage from their browser? Like change background color, add images, etc?

@trichampionsauthorSep 04.2005 — I tried searching one out... Im not talking about an editor that edits the whole page, Im talking about like having a page for users on a site to be able to view like their items(say a game) but be able to change the layout of the page so they can have their own style to it when people view it, but not actually change the html on the page... like this...

Page Heading

@ray326Sep 04.2005 — What kind of server side language are you using?

@airforcemookSep 04.2005 — It sounds like you want a cookie-based server-side script so that they load basic content and then apply whatever cookie-preferences they've previously set to that content.

Check out PERL or any of the other languages for how to do this. Once you start messing around with cookies and whatnot it shouldn't be too difficult.

@trichampionsauthorSep 04.2005 — server side language? you mean like HTML, etc? atm Im just using a program that uses HTML/CSS.... see my page.. http://equaticwebdesign.4t.com/equichamp

its not much but the best I could do. The login sucks that I got, I have to manually enter new users/passwords, then make the page they go to when they enter. try logging in to see more of hte site, username trichampions password 02171984

its complicated Im going nuts trying to make it do what I want but no one will help they just keep giving me references to places I have been. Thats the whole reason I keep giving up because to me its hopeless at this point. I couldnt do it then and I cant do it now(I have tried numerous times over almost 4 years to create this site). At one time a person offered to help me and started scripting my site but was only on a few hours a day and then took my site off the web trying to do something else and then fell off the face of the earth ?

@KravvitzSep 04.2005 — By "server-side language", we mean a subset of scripting programming languages.

@trichampionsauthorSep 04.2005 — hmmmm Im just using basic html and javascript. view the source to see all I have done. I have been using a program called BlueVoda to do the scripting for me, its easier then sitting for hours working on 1 page. I do know html tho and like I said some CSS/javascript. I looked at that page but all I saw was a bunch of stuff I never used before. So confused on all of this. I just figured the script to change the page would be html or javascript, I noticed Horseland.com uses javascript for all of its scripting and its website is great. I am looking for something like that with the instant message being able to change the stable page appearance, and a good login.

@DiscountBrickSep 05.2005 — Sounds like some one could use a wiki.

@trichampionsauthorSep 05.2005 — Just looked up a wiki, god why couldnt someone just say wiki in the first place? lol instead of giving me speeches of hiring someone to do the work for me? Thanks DiscountBrick ?
