Loading page, Help needed

You know those site that have loading pages with bars that show the sites progress in loading big files like flash (e.g [url]www.nikefootball.com[/url]) and then when the loading finishes it redirects automatically to that page that was just being loaded.
I need to create one of these and have no idea how to do it any help is much appreciated.

Those are 'download progress bars' you're talking about and they're usually just a Flash thang...where actionscript controls the width [or rotation, or whatever] of a movie clip in the first frame while checking bytes total / loaded of the whole content.

But since AS and js are pretty close - maybe do a search but I've not heard of suchathing. [Which isn't saying much, true!]

@Stephen_PhilbinAug 27.2005 — Keep in mind though, if your only version of the site takes so long to load you need a progress bar for loading, you're building a bad site.
