is it posible to ipc in javascript?

Hi,
I am pretty new to javascript development and have a question about inter-process communications in javascript. Seems like no tutorial talks about it, maybe because it simply doesn’t exists? Also i would be glad to know if there is any named pipes support in javascript? If not, then is there any replacement technique that could be used for inter process communications?
