Menu diasppears when "Back" is pressed

Is there any explanation or way to fix when a user is browsing my site with a javascript menu that crosses over the frame boundaries, when he goes to another page and the presses back, the menu disappears. They have to refresh to get the menu to display again. Is there any way to fix this?
