Major help with Tables… can you figure this error out? I sure can’t…

Hi everyone. I am designing a website for a photographer friend of mine. I am trying to set up a table on the main page to display his biography information. Currently, the first two colums of the table are perfectly fine, but the other colums to the right of the first two are all out of whack. I need all the colums to have the same shape as the first two, so they will be somewhat uniform.

Can anyone help with this, or have any idea what i’m doing wrong?

The website is at http://www.edthompsonphoto.com/commercial/ . The site is in several different frames, so if you are trying to view the source code make sure you have that center frame selected.

ANY and ALL help would be greatly apperciated… because I have spent hours on this and I have no idea what i’m doing wrong.

Thanks!!!

Ashley

@James_Bond_007Aug 14.2005 — What exactly are you trying to do? Get them all the same height?

@atlantarockauthorAug 14.2005 — Yes! Exactly... I tried using the height/width commands within the table HTML but I saw no difference... Is there anything else I can try that might work?

@James_Bond_007Aug 14.2005 — It appears that the text is stretching them. Make more columns and balance out the text. That should fix it.

@ray326Aug 14.2005 — You need to throw away the frames and the tables and it will be a lot easier to do plus a lot more accessible. Oh, the HTML is really wrong too. Re the design, do you really want to stretch it out sideways like that? Is dragging the h-scroll bar easier than the v-scroll? This page is crying out for a contemporary design realization with CSS and meaningful HTML.

Ok, because I really don't want to just say this stuff without giving you an example of how it could be done right, here's my "vertical" version of that page. I broke the text into what seemed to be logical paragraphs.

<h2 id="intro">Welcome to<br><span>Ed C. Thompson<br>Photography</span></h2>

<p>If you must select just one word to describe Ed Thompson and his
photography versatile would be it.
Ed would rather let his images
talk so we will make this a brief background description. </p>

<p>He studied the basics of color, design, painting and drawing,
and a little 3D in ceramics. Realizing his talents for photography
in his teens he soon became serious, applying them to yearbooks and
occasional local news coverage.</p>

<p>Journalism was a natural fit and Ed
landed his dream job shooting for The Sunday Magazine of The Atlanta
Journal &amp; Constitution.
Feature photojournalism opened the doors to
politicians and movie stars, captains of industry and murderers.
Assignments literally carried him from boardrooms to death row.
He covered the personalities and the characters making news from
the South across the country for six years. </p>

<p>These assignments honed his skills to immediately put his subject at
ease, assess a situation quickly, determine the best angles and
capture the images with both an economy of time and equipment.</p>

<p>His disciplines were not limited to location shoots but also included
lighting and large format studio work.
Those tricks of the trade and his skills translated well to the world
of corporate literature when Ed established his own business in 1982.
Over twenty years Ed has been meeting the needs of Fortune 500 companies.
Examples of his clients include industry leaders in beverage, energy, golf and agriculture.
He also readily accepts editorial assignments from clients in those same industries.</p>

<p>And now we will let the images speak for Ed Thompson.
If you would like to discuss an assignment or need more information
please feel free to speak directly with Ed through the contacts listed.
In the mean time, enjoy evidence of his versatility and talents through these images.</p>
