Extracting value

Have a string with a value of “blah(number)blah”. The two “blah”‘s are of various lengths/values.

I’d like to extract number.

What’s the easiest way to accomplish this?

preg_match('#^.*((d+)).*$#', $string, $match);

$number = $match[1];
