I am a webmaster who has been given the task of redesigning a website for a small production company.
The area that has the error is the main navigation bar, when i click on a link the ‘error on page’ comes up…showing details the message box states “Line: 25, Char: 1, Error: ‘document.getElementById(…)’ is null or not an object, Code: 0, URL:
What I have tried to set up is when the homepage is loaded a small ‘welcome’ layer of text is displayed beside the nav buttons. When you click on any of the links the ‘welcome’ text disappears and the new html page of information shows up – simply refreshing whats inside the already designated layer with a new html page.
The relevant html pages do exist on the server – i’m not worried about if they don’t quite fit – still designing the site to look right… Its just this small javascript link problem etc…
I am using IE 6 as my browser and using Dreamweaver MX (ver 6) as my html editor…
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
