How do you take a screen snapshot from Windows?

I would like to know how to take a screen snapshot of a page you are viewing. On my online portfolio I want to use jpg’s of websites I created as links. How do I get an image of what the main website looks like?

In school we used mac’s and I believe the keyboard shortcuts was ctrl+shift+3 and it would take a snapshot of whatever was on the computer screen. But I can’t figure out how to do it on a pc/windows based computer. ?

I attached an example of what I mean. A snapshot of something I was working on in Quark which shows the whole window (quark window) in a jpg format

@NogDogJul 11.2005 — Ctrl-PrtScr will save a bitmap of the entire screen to the clipboard. Alt-PrtScr will do the same, but only capture the active window.

You can then open pbrush.exe or any other graphics tool you have, and do a paste to insert the contents of the clipboard into your image (Ctrl-V will do this in Paint).
