How to create session and check session in add, delete, user page

I have created 5 php programs called as login.php, index.php, adduser.php, modifyuser.php, deleteuser.php.

Login.php is login page for admin.

index.php checks for login validation from mysql database and contains links to add, modify and delete user.

Now I need to create session in index.php

So how to create it.

Also adduser.php, modifyuser.php, deleteuser.php should redirect user to login.php, if these pages are tried to opened without loging in browser.

So how to add session verification in adduser.php, modifyuser.php, deleteuser.php.
