Javascript locking Macs??

Has anyone heard of issues with javascript locking up MACs?
We are using a simple window.open command with some parameters for the resulting window, ie remove toolbar, and I am being told by my client that this is causing MACs to lock up? I tried it on several MACs in my office and did not have a problem.
Customer is creating a redirect with the refresh command that then call the window.open command referenced above. When I try his link it craps out on both my PC and all the MACs I tried.
Any thoughts??
