@troutJul 06.2005 — Hiya,

Down to business ... take this all with the upmost respect and help that I am trying to convey..

..first and foremost - you've made a web design feux-pas immedietaly by having a gateway page. This is not good for anything anymore apart from annoying potential users - nope those search engines won't list you higher because you have all your keywords on it .... which by the way you don't anyway as there is no meta tags or text. Secondly you have a huge fekin graphic there that took ages to d/l on my lightning broadband connection ... think about those poor 56k users stilll out there... they would have got bored and left your site not long after the first half inch of that picture finally downloaded itself. Also there is no alt tag for that fat image - so you are isolating those out there that are visually impaired. Thirdly, you have fallen to the use of area maps - which are things that should really be avoided, as they are not very good for those out there with disabilities to navigate - and are also reliant on modern browsers and fastish connections (believe me there are still a pile of folk with neither!!).

The second page falls to a massive background graphic too.... ouch..

To answer your question about a screen for everyone... you need to have javascript isolate the height/width of a potential users screensize and then port them off to another version of your website specifically designed for that screen size.

Alternatively ... just create the one size website that uses CSS edging that will flow out past those with a screen size larger than 800x600 - which is the screensize that we're all having to still create markup for *still*. Believe me there are a pile of folk out there still trawling the Internet on these types of small screens with low res colour!!! Yes??!!
