Valign Problem? Odd…

The Valign problem is in the first “Headlines” content table/box
i want the link centered vertically so it lines up with the bg image (2 dots), i think you guys can see what i want

anyways, anyone have a solution and y didnt valign work?

check my css again too

i also changed each box to a list instead of a table

vertical align didnt work!
