Display image/chart depending on variables from a form.

Hello,

I’ve been asked to produce an online quiz, which is split into three stages. Firstly, users will answer yes or no to a set of questions, then depending on their answers they will be directed to another set of multiple choice questions. Finally when they have answered these questions the results will be presented as a graphic/chart, and also available as text which can be copied into Word.

I’m a web designer rather than developer so I’m a bit stuck for where to begin! Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction or at least give me a starting point for how I might do each section. I’m not necessarily sure whether javascript is the best solution for this but though it could be an option.

Thanks in advance for any help.

@MigJun 21.2005 — Have you thought about using Flash? You'll be able to produce something a lot more graphically pleasing, although JavaScript is fine if you're not too bothered about the design of your quiz so much. But as a web designer, Flash is great, and actionscript is a lot like JavaScript anyway.

@Clare73authorJun 21.2005 — Thanks. I have been thinking about Flash too but not sure which was the best option - I'm fairly familiar with Flash, although I've not used it for creating forms before so not sure where to start - I'm more used to doing forms with HTML/JS which is why I was considering that option. I'll have a look into Flash forms and see what I come up with.

Thanks again for your advice.

@MigJun 21.2005 — Well Flash doesn't really have forms, but you could create a quiz easily. I was thinking about the chart/graph at the end - that could be dynamically created with some scripting (I wasn't sure you can do that with JS).

I guess it would probably be a lot quicker and easier for you to do it with JS, seeing as you already know what you're doing, and unless you want it to look very cool, it might not be necessary to go into Flash. Completely going back on myself there, but good luck - whatever you choose to do.
