Browser differences

How do I use absolute positioning that will work in different browsers??? It’s like I have to use different positions for IE and Firefox, how annoying!!!!

@felgallJun 16.2005 — Setting the margins and padding on the html and body tags all to zero should correct most of the positioning errors and bring everything within one or two pixels of the same place.

@patenaudematJun 17.2005 — Just to make sure, you should be using CSS for this (this is posted in HTML, so I was just checking).

What felgall said is right. Also, just make sure that position: absolute; is stated in the CSS for all your objects.

Should you still fail to get it working, as a last resort, different stylesheets for Gecko (Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape) and IE might work (use JavaScript, or better, server-side browser detection to choose the stylesheet).
