Can of you brains help us out?

OUR PROBLEM IS THAT OUR MENU IS JUST TOO DAMN BIG AND IT SLOWS THE NAVIGATION OF OUR SITE BECUASE IT TAKES SIX TO TEN SECONDS TO LOAD EACH TIME. OUR SITE IS DYNAMIC (ASP) AND USES “JUMPTO” FUNCTIONS TO CATEGORIES AND PRODUCTS.

BASICALLY, WE’RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE JAVA JUMPTOS IN OUR MENU THAT WILL TARGET AN IFRAME ON THE PAGE. REGULAR LINKS WORK FINE BETWEEN THE MENU AND THE IFRAME, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN WE TRY TO USE THE JAVA JUMPTOS.

HERE’S THE FULL PROBLEM:

We’re a small lighting store online and we’re launching our new site. It’s a dynamic site (asp) and the menu uses a special JavascriptJumpto: function to link to each page.

We’re using an OPEN CUBE application for our menu which has over 500 items and loads very, very quickly. However, once it loads, it’s ok. The problem is everytime you load a new page, the menu slows the surfing down as it loads anew each time.

So, we’re trying to beat this problem by creating the home page the store in an iframe in the middle of the page. This way the menu loads once and stays there while just the iframe changes as the menu targets it.

BUT FOR SOME REASON, THE JAVASCRIPT JUMP DOESN’T WORK TO THE IFRAME… If I change the javascript jump to a regular link (i.e. “www.ebay.com”), the iframe changes when the link is used.
