Is there a way to have an extrernal JS file to store usernames and passwords and not in the actual HTML page?

Sure i’ve seen it once, but not sure where.

@A1ien51Jun 06.2005 — what is so hard about it, just put the JavaScript code into the js file and link it to the page. BUT you are not gaining any extra security by doing it. Only secure way is to use a server side language.

@Tweak4Jun 06.2005 — Yep... if someone takes 20 seconds to look at your html, they can find the name and location of your external .js file. Loading that address directly into the address bar will prompt them to download your entire password file, and probably even open it for them in notepad. The result? All of your logins are compromised in under a minute... hardly worth the effort of coding something that easy to break...
