Timing a function.

Hi is there some sort of timing function that starts at zero or will I have to use microtime() and subtract the difference. Here’s what I am trying to do.
some_function(); //I want to know how long this takes.

// I guess you could do the following and subtract the difference
$start = microtime();
some_function();
$stop = microtime();

// But is there a stopwatch like function (in milliseconds) or could I build one
stopwatch(‘start’);
some_function();
stopwatch(‘stop’);
$elapsed_time = stopwatch(‘read’);
@bokehauthorJun 05.2005 — Thanks for looking but I have solved it now with the following:
<?php
function elapsed_time_in_milliseconds($start, $end){
$start = explode(' ', $start);
$start = $start[0] + $start[1];
$end = explode(' ', $end);
$end = $end[0] + $end[1];
return (round(($end - $start) * 1000));
}

$start = microtime();
sleep(2); // The function I want to time
$end = microtime();
print(elapsed_time_in_milliseconds($start, $end));
?>
