resize of an extract of a map

Hello, who can help me?
im very unexperienced with java script.
i try to do a page where the user sees a map and should able to create an extension of a self-chosen extract of the map (by klicking the left side of the mouse, creating the frame of what should be resized, dropping the mouse – and in the same window of the old map the new map (resized extract)should open)
the map has its own coordinates already. Anybody can help?
