Is it possible to search a word document for specific words? An example: I want to hire someone based on the skill I want them to have. PHP, SQL, HTML that kind of stuff. There resume has PHP, SQL, CSS for their skills. This candidate wouldn’t be considered because lack of HTML.

I think I made myself clear. Thanks for any info.

I think the easiest way is to manually open all the CVs in Word and save them as plain text, then you can use PHP or any other language to search them.

Or you need to install some kind of software that converts Word documents to plain text, either a program or a library. I'm not sure if such functionality is available for PHP, but it's definitely possible to automate the process.
