browser problem?

I can’t figure this out. My applet works just fine with appletviewer, but when I open the same page in the browser all I get is a box with a red X at the top. The java console said this:

What is that all about?

@amazing_andr3authorMay 15.2005 — OK I have kind of figured it out. If I open the file:/// document instead of the http://localhost document, it works.

So it's not a problem with my browser, but with my Apache 2 server (running on Win XP). But I still can't figure out exactly what is causing it. Do you need to configure Apache for Java? Kind of like you configure it after installing the PHP engine?
