Not appearing images

I have been operating my own personal website for several years so I think I know what I am doing but yesterday when I tried to add a couple of photos to the end of one page, they did not show up. The red x is there so I went back to check my coding and my image file names and after looking at things for several minutes, I could not find anything wrong. I even reloaded the page several times and refreshed my browser but to no avail. Check www.irving2004.net (New York City-2005, page 5). The Metro Cards do not appear. I am completely baffled after checking my coding and my file names. Any ideas on this matter? Thanks.

@FangMay 11.2005 — 2 card are there. Maybe a problem with your cache

@ewomackMay 11.2005 — Yup. I see them too. A yellow one and a white one. I'm going with the cache problem too. Flush it out and reload.

@IrvauthorMay 11.2005 — OK, this morning I used my Norton Systemworks program to clean out the Cache. Since then I have even shut down the computer to go out on errands. Just turned it on a few minutes ago and I STILL do not see those images, only the red x's. What the devil is going on here? I believe you guys that you see the images. My brain tells me I coded things correctly but for some weird reason I only see red (x's). Not sure what to do next here on this end.

@FangMay 12.2005 — In IE Tools > Internet Options > Delete File...

Look at your site again. Still no images then Ctrl-F5

Also look at you site with a different browser.

@BonRougeMay 12.2005 — You have big, big problems on that page.

Firstly, there's no DTD so browsers make up their own rules.

Then, you have 2 titles (two sets of title tags).

After that, there's the font tag in the head.

The head is followed by 2 body tags and lots of opening p tags...(but none of them closing).

After about 30 lines of html comes an incomplete DTD followed by an opening html tag and then an opening head tag. After some javascript the html tag is closed. Then there's more html.

The bottom is good though! (The last two lines are correct).

I'm surprised we see anything - never mind two images.

@jmaresca2005May 12.2005 — make sure your calling these images correctly in your img src tag.

@IrvauthorMay 12.2005 — While I will continue to pour over this with a fine tooth comb, everything I have tried has not worked on my Maxthon Browser which is my primary browser these days. I can see the images using IE but I have relegated that to secondary status. I even inserted the following code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> on all pages. My Coffee Cup software was supposed to do that but didn't so I copied from some other pages. THAT did not help either. :-(

@FangMay 12.2005 — You must have a valid document to stand any chance of displaying it correctly.

62 errors is too much for most browsers.

@shepherdMay 12.2005 — 1.how should i run my html pages on a local network

@IrvauthorMay 12.2005 — 62 errors??? Really? The page displays fine in IE and displayed fine via Maxthon Browser prior to the latest add on to the page. The original part of the page displays fine in Maxthon. What 62 errors are you talking about?

@IrvauthorMay 12.2005 — After a number of problems today with a brand new camera, this is more than I needed. I understand, sort of, what is being said regarding the many errors and now I am wondering if Coffee Cup software is worth anything at all. I have been using that for several years or could it be that I am at fault for tryiing to add elements to the coding that were not intended to be added on that pages? I guess I am trying to mix apples and oranges here, at least that is my impression so while I get the drift of the error assessment, I am not sure I can correct things that quickly without pulling out my hair. Oh well, back to square one. Thanks for your input in this matter.
