HTML standards

Where can I find some kind of html code standards document online? I’m actually concerned with things like naming conventions for both html objects (checkboxes, text inputs, etc.) and css classes, code case (upper-lower), file naming conventions, etc. I’ve googled it and looked at the W3C and haven’t had any luck.

@ray326May 09.2005 — All lowercase and no "dangerous" characters is about the most compatible thing you can do.

@MstrBobMay 09.2005 — I'd assume that the HTML 4.01 and CSS 2.1 specifications would contain what you're looking for. These documents contain the specification, as developed by the W3C. Probably THE source for the technologies.

If you're concerned about accessibility, browser implementation, common techniques, ect. then there are a myriad of other resources.
