@David_HarrisonMay 08.2005 — #Here's something that might do what you want. It makes use of custom attributes which some JavaScript then picks up on and uses to create the pop-up windows.
There are 6 custom attributes in total and 5 of them are required while one is optional. The required attributes are; windowheight, windowwidth, imageheight, imagewidth and imagealt. Hopefully it's pretty obvious what they all do. The optional attribute is imagedescription, that's what will display a bit of text beneath the image.
If you do not use all 5 of the required attributes on the link then the script will ignore it completely.
Using this script will make your page invalid, that is to say that when you run your page through the W3C validator it will complain about the use of the custom attributes. I did try to modify an XHTML DOCTYPE so that the validator would accept them but it just seemed to ignore all of the alterations I had made.
@speedbirdMay 08.2005 — #I use Web Album Generator , which integrates nicely with FP2003, is free and will validate.
"Web Album Generator is a free software application for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP or higher that helps you easily create photo albums for the World Wide Web. Publishing your photographs to the Internet has never been easier! Simply drag-and-drop your digital photos onto Web Album Generator, give them optional titles and captions, select your favourite colour scheme and generate! Web Album Generator takes care of the dirty work, creating the necessary JPG thumbnails, HTML and CSS files with strict standards compliance."
You can also adjust the CSS to integrate it more closely with your site and you can see an example of this here.
