Code Not Working

I am following the instructions to copy and paste the coding from this site into my HTML document but nothing shows up in the browswer window the document is open to. Specifically, I am trying to copy and use the codes for some of the navigational systems (drop down menus, etc.).

I am placing the code in the right sections (i.e., <HEAD> and <BODY>) but when I save and refresh my broswer, nothing shows up except the advertising “Free JavaScripts provided
by The JavaScript Source”.

Does this have something to do with my cookies? I have used code from this site before very successfully.
