Apache and PHP work fine on any machine running XP. You can download a package with apache2 and PHP5 from [URL=http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html]http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html[/URL]
Although I did manage to make the above package work on my machine I found it unstable so I went back to [URL=http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/appserv/appserv-win32-2.4.2.exe?download]this package[/URL] which contains PHP 4.3.9 and apache 1.3.33 and seams rock solid.
