What characters can escape() give?

Hi, I’m using escape in my code, and I need to know what characters it can output. I know it can do all the alphabet in upper and lower case, full stop numbers, percent, etc, but will never output: ” (quotation marks). Does anybody have a full list?

@BigMoosieauthorApr 09.2005 — It's for storing my cookies ?, but thanx, i dont need it now, i realsied all i have to do was test if # worked and if ~ worked (i only needed a couple so I could use them as indicators)
