a simple question

hey guys, this might be a real dumb question, but i was wondering how do i set the size of my web site and which size is the best one to go with for peoples viewing pleasure.

example:
1024×768
800×600

@hagarismApr 05.2005 — I am a novice too, so take this advice with a grain of salt, but the site I am doing is

740X480. You basically want to try opening differemt browsers and do "capture screen", (which on mac is alt+shift+4, and it saves the image on your desktop) that lets you make an image of the available space on the browser without all the bars. And set your screen resolution to pretty low when you do it. hope this helps.

@rhsundergroundApr 05.2005 — you'd be best off to have a site that everyone can view. the easiest way to do that is with CSS and fluid layouts. you can find information [URL=http://www.roderickhoward.com/cssdirectory/]here[/URL]. i once had a link for an online resizer that will show your screen in various resoultions, but i can no longer find it. if i find it again, i'll post it here.
