Help w/ video

I have video to put on a website and the videographer has provided the video in multiple formats. He is reformatting the file for dial up because the quality was terrible so I embedded the high speed sample on the page at http://www.weddingjoy.biz/videohigh.htm. While I can view it fine, it doesn’t load for everyone. The owner wants all visitors to be able to view the video sample from either high speed or dial up. Here are a couple questions I have:

  • 1.

Is embedding it like this the best way to accomplish this? What are my other options?

  • 2.

The owner has requested that I add a Loading…. icon and I have no idea how to do that.

  • Thanks for your help!

What are my other options?
The embed tag was something made up by Microsoft for Internet Explorer, real browsers support it but in a pretty patchy way and it's generaly always better to use the object tag.

If you're worried about what all visitors see, then you really ought to replace that navigation which I can't see any of.

@bruerrdlApr 02.2005 — I have found the best way to do this is to use streaming video.

Go to get streaming account . Once there, in the ‘dashboard area’, click on “click here to take the tour and sign up”. Use the ‘kall me’ function in the dashboard to give me a call and ask any questions. Once you have signed up I will walk you through how to integrate into your website.

If you want to see an example of how the streaming video will work into your website, go to one of my recent website builds www.talk2joycee.com

@mtgentryApr 04.2005 — Embedding is the better option if the video is shorter than a couple minutes.

( I suggest the quicktime format.)

If you want to show an entire wedding then you will probably have to stream the thing.
