mysql mac os x executable problem

I have mysql installed and set to run on boot up on my imac, apache is running and php is installed, however when I try to run the mysql.exe file from terminal, by using this command line:

-Macintosh:~ user exec /Users/dantedam/Library/PreferencePanes/MySQL.prefPane/ -Contents/MacOS/MySQL

I get these errors:

-bash: /Users/user/Library/PreferencePanes/MySQL.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/MySQL: -Bad executable (or shared library)

-bash: /Users/user/Library/PreferencePanes/MySQL.prefPane/Contents/MacOS/MySQL: -Unknown error: 0

Any advice?
