PDF files generated automatically by PHP

Hello all,

We run a small web design agency, creating sites with PHP content management systems.

We are developing an e-commerce site for a client. One requirement is that we generate PDF documents that incorporate content from the site.

The PDFs will not simply be versions of a web page (which will contain superfluous information). Rather, we would like to pull data direct from the database, and have it automatically integrated into a PDF template of our own design. This will allow our clients, and their customers, to print out the PDF at high resolution.

I am not sure what plug-ins, scripts or server-side software is available for this task, though I feel sure that something is available. If someone could point me in the direction of an appropriate page on Webdeveloper, or other site, I would be very grateful. We can then take a look at what’s available, and get on with the task of learning how to integrate it into our pages.

Many thanks

Robert

@mikkoMar 15.2005 — I didn't really feel like paying for the PDFlib, so I'm using free fpdf instead.

Here are a couple of other free ones... http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/faq.using.php#faq.using.freepdf

Though paying for the PDFlib is probably the best choice, it's best documented and (seems to be) easiest to use.
