disable right-click for images

I used the Javascript code in my FrontPage pages to disable the right-click for images and find out that after saving the pages, I can no longer see about 80% of the html code. THe page, however, does display properly and I cannot right-click to “lift” an image.

What do I have to do to see all the html code and still disable right-click?

@JPnycMar 06.2005 — Just lose the disable script. Does no good anyway. All anyone has to do is drag'n drop the image to the address bar, and they got it anyway. They can view source and get the url to the img, also. If they want it, they can get it.

By the way - I didn't know about moving the image to the address bar - and I'm not sure too many other people do either.

  • 1. right click

  • 2. IE6 image toolbar (that appears when you hover over the image)

  • 3. copy from browser cache

  • 4. save the page

  • 5. view page source to find filename and display image in browser window by itself

  • 6. disable no right click script bookmarklet


    • and many more.

    Only the first two of these can be blocked so doing so doesn't achieve much (except to annoy visitors who legitimately use the right click menu for other purposes such as navigation).
