Wondering how to SHOW my source code

I’m not even certain whether this is a javascript or a php question…

I would like my page to SHOW it’s source code – either at the bottom, or ideally in a box like the one that is used on this site. The one that reads:

Simply click inside the window below, use your cursor to highlight the script, and copy (type Control-c or Apple-c) the script into a new file in your text editor (such as Note Pad or Simple Text) and save (Control-s or Command-s). The script is yours!!!

Could one of you kindly point me in the right direction? Please?

@gyrauthorFeb 22.2005 — Maybe it would be helpful if I showed what I would like to do, rather than try to explain it with just words?

Here's a link to the page that I'm working on:

http://mytemplates.siteburg.com/LGBpage/templategenerator.html

When I click on the "generate page" button at the bottom the next page is populated with the information from the forms. But, rather than going to "view source" to copy and paste the html for use in my auctions I would like to have the HTML source code show at the bottom of the page. Ideally in a box with a "click to highlight" function button like the one for the banner that I snagged a pic of to show what I would like my page to look like.

Does that make any sense? ?

@PittimannFeb 22.2005 — Hi!

I put a tiny example online here. Just type something into the textfield and click the button.

Cheers - Pit

@gyrauthorFeb 22.2005 — Wow, Pit! Thank you so much!

I appreciate your taking the time to do that. (So I WAS in the wrong forum! lol)

I can't wait to go start playing with that code. I'll be back to show you the end results and slobber messy grateful thank you's all over you again when I'm done "fiddling" - probably tomorrow morning.

@PittimannFeb 22.2005 — Hi again! You're welcome. :p

According to your original question, it could also have been a javascript one.

If you face any problems to apply my little example to your by far more complex code, just post again.

Good luck - Pit
