I am working on a WYSIWYG XML editor, and I need to have a “text flow widget”. The editor itself is working, but having textareas everywhere looks mighty ugly. And it is not very WYSIWYG that way ?

I have tried <span contenteditable=”true”>, but it is very difficult to manage the code to make that work in both IE and Firefox, plus the extra code required to turn off all of the functionality that I don’t want.

Has anyone done something like this before that can give some suggestions?
