quick design tips

I am going to be entering this site into a web design contest tomorrow and i was wondering if anyone has any quick tips that i can do to make this look better. I think its pretty good because its only against high school kids, but then again im not to creative and i have no idea how good the other people are. The site is supposed to be promoteing a school store. I realize the pictures are bad quality, but i am putting new ones on as soon as my friend optimizes them.

  • [*]Change the lightning bolts to something more appropriate

  • [*]Put a shadow/border around the picture

  • [*]I'd use the same hover affect for the links at the bottom as is at the top

    The only thing that seems insulting is that i say if they dont have enough money, but what do u mean by writing the copy??

[/B][/QUOTE]     The copy the wirtten bits, everything that isn't the graphic and the design, this is a term mostly used in journalism but you're likely to see it around the web quite often. For future reference the following would make a good start:If you're not fussy about having the latest editions or you're working on a limited budget, the South Glenbook store has a wide range of used books; some of which are still in great condition.
