cascading menu, need to relocate: part 1

I’m trying to use a cascading menu from: (I hope it’s ok to send this)… http://javascript.internet.com/navigation/cascade-menu.html
I need to relocate it within my page, but all it will do is show up at the top left hand corner, no matter what I do. I’m a beginner and new to this and just don’t seem to understand what I have to do next.
I use WebSudio 4.0 to create my website, all is working fine except for this, I’ve tried a few things for the last 3 days and nothing seems to move it, what am I doing wrong? I don’t know how to attach any files into this post, so if you need anything from me to help you to help me, please let me know how to send you the needed information. I’m new to using Forums too and don’t know how they really work or what all I can do.
I tried to add an attachment, but do not know if it will work, please just add a s to the end of the extension to make it a .js file, if it worked, anything else you need please let me know. Can I send more than one attachment?
Need help please. ?

@FangFeb 17.2005 — If you use a dhtml menu use one that also works in Mozilla: http://www.brainjar.com/dhtml/menubar/

@HotrodderbobauthorFeb 17.2005 — Thank you for your reply.

I feel the menu information you sent me will come in handy for future work, maybe even for this job I'm doing now, if I decide to change it to this new style menu and start all over, which I may have to do. Will the new style menu you sent me be able to be moved around on the page like I need it to be able to do? I haven't checked it completely out as of yet, just gave it a glance and liked what I saw.

But I would like to use the one I've already started with and have done my modifications to meet the websites needs (I have that stored, and didn't send the finished product, I just sent something to show what stlye menu I was working with).

All I really need to know is do you have any idea on how to let me work with what I've started with and be able to move it on the page where I need it to be, or is this tyle menu that I'm working with always going to be where it wants to be and there is no changing it from that location (it is always at the top left hand corner and I can't seem to move it).

I need it to be centered on my page and approx. 1 inch from the top to show up under a jpg banner that is our company name and logo.

I will always be happy to get more information on new menus that I can use for future applications.

Thanks again for you reply and I hope you or somebody can help me. ?

@FangFeb 17.2005 — Place the menu directly after the banner and add the style to the menu:
<div id="menuBar" class="menuBar" style="width:400px;margin:0 auto;">
Assumes 4 main menu items, otherwise width=numberOfMenuItems * 100

@HotrodderbobauthorFeb 18.2005 — FANG...

Hello, thanks for the information, it didn't work as I'd hoped. It may work with another style menu (I've been working with many it seems, trying to find one that will work, but the boss decided that he wants this one), but I thank you, I have other projects in the works, and I feel all the information from you will come in handy.

I'll try and post here the index file so you may look at it. Nope to large. How about a portion of it, maybe that will still be ok...

and please go to our website, so you can get an idea of what I'm up against, see below for the link. I know that you know to copy and paste this and turn it into a index.htm file to view it.

NOTE: it seems that when I try and just dbl click on the index file, it'll come up and open the webpage, but I do get a warning that internet explorer has blocked the content, but all I have to do is tell it to show the information, you may have to do the same thing in order to see the drop down portion of the page, tho I'm really not sure why I get the message, and hope it's not a problem for others when I'm thru with this and get it on the internet, do you think it will be....is it because I'm using WebStudio 4.0 SP2, that's causing this problem???

The waveware.js file is attached, but you have to view it as a text file. I'm thinking the next step will be figuring out how to move the drop down portion to re-align it with the menu bar again...am I on the right track?

I was able to get the coname.jpg to center on my page, but now the problem is the drop down menu (cascading menu) is way off to the right of where it's supposed to be and the submenu is even further off to the right, so I'm guessing that the next problem may be in the waveware.js (in this case .txt, see attachment), but I'm totally confused about where I will have to make a change to make the drop downs work properly.

this is our old web page link, it still works of course, I'm just trying to get it to where it is a more user friendly, so we can update it easier. http://www.wirelessmessaging.com/

I've copied the .js and .css files to use on my new webpage from the old page and I would like the menu to work just like you see on the website, but it won't. It's taken me forever it seems to just get the company name in the center of the page.(I've found a couple of ways now to do this, but the end result is always the same, the drop downs are way off from where they should be).

It seems that the coname.jpg is somehow attached to the drop down menu bar, the bar goes where ever the name (banner?) goes on the page.

I cheated on this last attempt, (since I could not seem to get the coname.jpg to move anywhere else, from the top left hand corner of the page), and copied the DIV for another item on the page (same place I wanted the coname to be) and made the coname.jpg the same location, and that worked great, but now the drop down menus are way off again, so no matter what I do, it seems I'm right back where I started. When the menu along with the coname.jpg which seems to always be together, is at the top left corner, it works works perfectly as you should see when you go to our website.....

except I've noticed that the sub menu of the drop down menu is flacky, they seem to disappear before the mouse can get completely over the text..mmmmm, what's up with that??? It does this also on our website, if you want to check that out to?

Any other ideas???

I know I'm asking a lot, but I really need to fix this problem and unfortunately, I'm running out of time alloted for this project and I still have a lot to do, besides this, but at least will be easy compared to this.

You've been helpful, noone else has bothered to try and help me, I thank you. I hope to be able to help other in the future when I'm a whole lot better at it.

Thanks in advance !!! ?
