javascript menus and select boxes

I was hoping someone else had run across this but found nothing in my search.

I use javascript menus in most of my web applications but have problems with the menu drop down has to lay over a select box in a form. The menu will not overlay the select box so it is partially hidden.

@spadgosFeb 09.2005 — form elements, especially select boxes, are funny when it comes to z-ordering (determining which of two overlapping objects gets rendered "on top").

This page has some code, not exactly like yours, but manages to make divs and iframes render above form elements.
