.php or .php.html

Is there any reason why people would name their pages .php.html ?
Why doesn’t everybody prefer the shorter .php ?

I've never heard of anyone doing this, and if I try it on my server it does not get processed by the PHP interpreter, it just gets output as raw data.

@ShrineDesignsJan 31.2005 — you would have to setup the server so it would send .html files to the php engine
