I am currently developing a website with a small online shop. I was quite worried about securing the credit card side of things, however on the current hosting plan all I have to do is change the urls from http:// to https:// and it all appears to be secured.

The website is: http://www.twofourtwo.com.auhttps://www.twofourtwo.com.au

However given that it was so easy you can perhaps understand that I am a bit unsure on just how secure this actually is, so can anyone with experience with SSL confirm that this is all I have to do or if there is more to do (especially the php side of things) if you could forward me onto some resources/articles that would be appreciated.

@AdamGundryJan 25.2005 — When you access the site over SSL, only the connection between client and server is encrypted. It is still your responsibility to make sure the PHP code itself is secure. There are numerous articles on securing php, and a large number of things you need to take into account.

Also note that the certificate being used has been issued to secure.conexim.com.au rather than your own domain, and this should cause a security warning in your visitors' browsers. You might want to look into getting a certificate for your domain and company, rather than a shared one with the hosting company.
