meta name="keywords" still in use?

So what’s the deal with the keywords meta?

Should I bother to use it or have search engines already gotten smart enough to ignore it (as they should)?

@rsdJan 18.2005 — Some do still use it but some also ignore it.

I put them in anyway.

@IntensityJan 25.2005 — If META kewyords are included in Googles search engine algorithm, than it must be the bottom last and least amount of a factor possible.

Now in search engines like Yahoo and MSN and others it still plays a little role. The tiniest boost might be all you need to jump ahead of your competitor. Add'em.

@amazing_andr3authorJan 25.2005 — OK then I will put my keywords just in case. It's not that hard. I should have a list with the keywords that I'm trying to target anyways.

Thanks.

Although I still think it's stupid for a search engine to take them into consideration.
