How can I connect to a remote mysql?

How can I connect to a remonte mysql? I tried changing “localhost” to my domain name but it didn’t worked. I was denied access to database.

can I set it at CPanel or phpmyadmin? I couldn't find such a thing.

@sydelctJan 04.2005 — in cpanel, when you create a database user, you must put % instead of localhost when you create a user (or is it database?)

in phpmyadmin, if you can access the "mysql" database, you just have to edit the users table and change localhost to % then restart mysql.

i think that'll work.
