Opening a link in a previously used window

I have a page with a link that opens up a new ‘menu’ type of window. I want the user to be able to click on an item in the menu and the page to open in the window which had the link on to open the menu in the first place. How do I do this please? Thanks.

@anagogeauthorDec 29.2004 — I tried that and I assumed it would be that, but it opened in the same window as the menu.
