help display in a textarea (easy for anyone)

hi
i am having trouble displaying text in a textarea box.

this is what i am currently writing, but it just says this is ‘null or not an object’. what am i doing wrong?

function generateCode() {
output = “<script language=”JavaScript”>/nThis is javascript yum yum/n</script>
document.generator.res.value = output
}
[/CODE]

why doesnt it work? 😡 ? 😡
