background image

Can anyone tell me how you use CSS to get an image used in the background of a table cell to span the whole width of the cell but to tile vertically.

I have a one pixel high graphic 20 pixels wide that goes from a colour to white. I want to use this to create a graduated fill effect in the background of a cell.

Any help appreciated.

@DaveSWDec 09.2004 — well css can tile your image vertically, but it's only going to span the width of your cell if the image and cell are the same width.

<td style="background: #ffffff url(img.gif) 0 0 repeat-y;">
