Our future will be like Star Trek’s future!!!

Our future will be like Star Trek’s future! Everything, free–working together with common goals!

Well, at least, that’s what I can derive from this article.

People believe that governments should provide the Internet for free, but the thing is, that’ll ruin companies like Verizon. ?

What do you guys think? Should the Internet be free?

Kind regards,

@soccer362001Dec 02.2004 — If the Internet goes free, the service is probably only going to get worse. I'd much rather pay than have it be free. Of couse if I'm going to pay I'm going to go after the best deal out there.

@Venom989Dec 02.2004 — I totally agree. If the net becomes free, the quality of service will definitely go down and we'll all be calling it the inter-lag-o-net. Give me a premium ISP and I will gladly pay for its service.

@Paul_JrDec 03.2004 — Frankly I'd like to see highspeed internet offered just about everywhere first. If they can't manage to get it out where I live when they are getting paid, I'd hate to see what it would be like if they didn't get paid.
