Stop URL printing on Web Pages

I have problem, I have an ordering system at a particular url (of course). When the client has finished and submited the order, an invoice page comes up. The client then prints this page out.
Our client has asked us if it is at all possible that the the header and footer (with the url info) that is printed out, be either removed or altered to say something else. Our client would rather have their identity being shown there or nothing at all.
As the ordering site is on our server, of course our address shows up on the head/foot of the printed doc, as there is over 2000 potential client/merchants logging in, can we change that from the server, rather than all those clients having to change it?

cheers

Peter

@MstrBobNov 30.2004 — Printing is a client side operation, you can't really force them to print whichever. You can take a look at the Print Media for your CSS. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, though. Are you referring to the bottom of the page where the url of the originating website is display? The page is sent by the browser, and I don't know if removing that through your CSS is an option or not.

Hope this answered your question.

@tonedoggydoggNov 30.2004 — As I believe MstrBob mentioned, url printing is a browser function that you probably cannot control. By default, most browsers print the url in the footer.

However, I would suggest finding a tool that can convert the invoice into a PDF on the fly. PDF format is very powerful and allows the customer to save a copy to their desktop or print from their browser.

Try www.rustyparts.com/pdf.php

They claim that such class will convert standard HTML files into a PDF on the fly.

Good luck!
