I was wondering how I could go about learning how to code something that would allow for a menu search like this one:

it allows one to pick a year, then the make, then the model, then the engine size.

Hope that will help you out a bit, remember Javascript is Clientside not serverside and its scripting ... you are limited with JS.

but they are all time consuming to learn if you are not fimiliair with any of these.

I would suggest you to ask around at forums dedicated to those scripting 'languages'.
