How you would go about promoting your site would be different if you're target veiwers are local, national or international.
So first ask yourself that question...
From there are there other sites that will link to your own, the more incoming links to your site the more popular your site will become.
Next is there anyway to get your site seen by others?
The design your site is VERY important.
Next add content as often as possible... Google likes sites that regularly add new content.
Use your keywords in the body of your page text.

Thanks for the quick reply my site is not the usual. As far as my website viewers it would be international. Next do you mean have my website seen by you guys or just other developers. And yes I would have no problem doing. Because of what my site (It's a sports statistical archive) is the web design is not as important as one would think. I want it to be basic but at the same time organized and clean looking. It's a free site that I am hoping develops into self paying site through donations and sponsors. There is one downside though in that the work that I am doing through research is that I am looking for ways to protect my work. It is tricky because it deals with stats and that is a hard thing to protect because they are facts and the copyright law states that you can't copyright fact. Which I have no problem with the part which I do have a problem with is that I am working 60 hours a week on this project and would absolutely hate for another website to come along and copy and paste all my stuff. Do you know of anyway that I could protect that?
