Let me start by saying i did not know where to put this post, XML or CSS but I chose CSS. VML is possibly the coolest thing I have seen all week! I want to use it extencivly on this one veb site of mine now because it looks awesome and saves tones of time. A WAY IN RAW CODE TO MAKE ROUNDED CORNERS AND OTHER NEAT STUFF! Only problem is I cant seem to figure out how to make the border change colors, well I get it to but it did not look pretty. I tried <v:roundrect style=”width:500pt;height:500pt;border: 2px solid #003366″ fillcolor=”003366″></v:roundrect>
It did not work out nicely. It had a border… but it was square and not round like the shape even though the object is physically square, but still…. c mon. Next there was the fact that the object was ‘falling out’ of the border. By that I mean the object was well inside the border on the top left side and overlapping its border on the bottum right. Any suggestions or cool ideas?

@StefanFeb 26.2003 — VML is proprietary crap. Look into SVG instead, which is the standard way of doing the same.

Native browsersupport for SVG is a bit scarse at the moment though (but not worse then VML).

BTW, CSS 3 will have rounderd bordercorners, but yet again browsers are in general not implementing it yet. You can get it working in Mozilla browsers however, but that basicly just usefull if you want to eperiment with the effects.

@PeOfEoauthorFeb 26.2003 — I might just stick to images for now because it can be read by most browsers and its easy to use and controll. But I still think VML is pretty cool.
