JavaScript error on my IE 6.0 browser

Hi,

I have a problem with my browser IE 6.0, when I load some pages such as (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpcongeneratingclient-sidejavascriptforpostback.asp) a javascript error appears in the browser’s left corner, and the left part of the web page, where a menu tree would have to appear, nothing appears.

The javascript error message (when I click on the little error symbol) says:

Line: 924
Car: 9
Error: The Automatization server cannot create the object
Code: 0
URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/shared/deeptree/htc/deeptree.htc

And another error saying the same but in Line 22 and Car. 1

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

@David_HarrisonNov 10.2004 — Well I visited that page in IE so it's not the page's faulty coding (although I half expected it to be), therefore it must be your browser. Have you disabled ActiveX or JScript or something similar? If you have and that page makes use (or tries to make use) of these things then that might be why you're getting this error.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it though.

@erick30authorNov 10.2004 — Hi,

I haven' t disabled ActiveX nor JScript. The problem is that I can' t see any menu tree from http://msdn.microsoft.com/library pages, and I need it. Perhaps reinstall IE 6.0 ?

@David_HarrisonNov 10.2004 — You could give it a go but it sounds like it's your browser settings that are off.

@erick30authorNov 10.2004 — I already have solved the problem!, I removed the IE 6.0 from my PC and I reinstalled it, and now those pages are correct displayed (without errors)

@David_HarrisonNov 10.2004 — What you could do is just remove IE completely and install Mozilla Firefox, then you wouldn't have to worry about errors or security loop holes. ?

@JPnycNov 10.2004 — How do you do windows updates without IE?

@David_HarrisonNov 10.2004 — Oh yeah, 'cause service pack 2 is well worth it.

@Ben_RogersOct 12.2005 — SP2 messes with all that stuff by default, activeX and the whatnot. Figures the 'tards block themselves out. Tweak the security settings, it should work.

Success!
